The dark blue in the left top of this picture shows something that can be confusing when “reading” a view like this. Our eye sometimes reverses apparent positioning of light and dark areas of a scene. What might at first appear to be blue sky showing in clouds is actually lower, dark clouds, overlaid on higher white clouds. If you think of that idea while you look at the image, you can see the image change as your knowledge of what you are seeing informs your visual perception. I could have eliminated the confusion by lowering the intensity of the blue, but instead I chose to enhance it a bit. It carries the somewhat foreboding body of the old church. Regardless of anything else, religion is about strength after all.
