September is a slow month for businesses in Morelia. This is a city of universities; of young people. When they go home or on vacation – the city feels it. When they come back, when they pay for new rental deposits and families spend all their money on school supplies – business drops off until people get ahead of their bills again. It is the same every year, so businesses cut back in September. There are less concerts, less special events – all that. So, things have been a little thin on taking pictures of music and I’ve been involved in a project in Santa Clara del Cobre that has taken a lot of time in the past couple of weeks.

But all that is behind us now – so I’m catching up. I love the guys in this group. It is always good to hear them and a evening to come back to our regular Friday jazz evenings at Amati.
