This post is just what the title implies, a few random photos. I’ve been in the process of applying for my permanent residency and I’ve had to be in Morelia, going back and forth to banks and government offices for most of the week. It went well, the process is complete. No more yearly trips to Migration.

The first photo is just a piece of chocolate cake at FoodInBox. The crawly thing is indeed just a spot of chocolate intentionally added for interest. Nice place, good food. “Selfie” is a response to a friend who stopped me the other day while I was shooting and said, “You don’t have any selfies! You take all these photos and you never take one of yourself. This is your assignment. Take a selfie.” Assignment completed…

The last three are at Localito, a organic market and juice bar in Chapultepec that I happened by on my way home from today’s trip to Migration. I’d never seen it before and I wanted to try it. The decor style seems to be “urban potting shed” or at least that was what I could make out of it. The menu is simple. It seems like more of the “Ladies Who Lunch” in the area buy to take out than take lunch on the two rough hewn tables. That said, there was a lively group of six ladies having lunch/brunch when I visited.

My sandwich was good – I would have had something more but I needed to get back to get some work done. I did pick up some nice local cheese, bread and tortillas while I was there. I think that will take care of me for a while.

Despite what people might think, Morelia is urban city with modern trappings and trends after all….
