We love it when our “local boys” are on stage in town, but we love it even more when they get to play with a national artist of the stature of Gerry Lopez. The house was packed for this concert, literally SRO (Standing Room Only). There were chairs right up to the edge of the stage for the audience, including many who attended a special clinic series that Gerry ran during the week.

I took an unusual number of photos of this session. But, in my defence, I ended up with an unusually good set of work – or at least I feel that way. Certainly it was the music – the group was very well-balanced. You could feel their mutual respect and joy at getting a chance to work together. But I have to admit a certain amount of personal pride at work because I brought a few of the recent printed examples of my work with me and they were well received. It does make me happy.

Believe it or not, there is another set of photos from this concert for tomorrow. Hold on. I think they are a bit special too.
