I love the youth orchestras, bands – all the opportunities for young people to expand their lives with the arts while they are young. They may or may not continue with the pursuit of a career in music. It doesn’t matter. The experience they have now will help them with teamwork, overcoming their fear of performance, math (yes), and appreciation of life in general. What is a life without music, without passion?
