I had intentions of finding one of the cocina economicas I had seen near the Mercado del Dulces, but on the way I passed by Maria Bonita. I looked in and decided to try it. I’m glad I did.

It is in a building with four other businesses and it is a small restaurant – only two dining rooms and five tables. It is not a cocina economica – it lists itself as a cocina artesanal and it is as good a description as I can think of. Each item on the menu is very fresh, well seasoned and properly portioned. This meal, including a special house agua made of cranberry and apple juice, cost 70 pesos. A very worthwhile find.

I will go back – and try some of the other places in the same building
