Tell me you didn’t see this coming. It had to be done. I had to show some photos from Amati in this jazzy style. No way I could avoid it.

I have to say it does give me a chance to do somethings that were not possible in the low light of a cafe with “normal” approaches. Sort of “Thiebaudesc”  or at least a little “California Modern.”

I know what is going to happen next. Everyone is going to want their photos tone-mapped. jejejeje. For jazz musicians this is very much a part of their sensibility. Fun. It does take time to process these the way I want to. This is not Instagram. There are some preset styles I can use, but I’ve left that behind. Every image is different in some way and responds differently. But that is the point…

In reality, I don’t intend to leave more traditional photo images behind. But right now, I am a kid with a new toy in some respects. I have to push and pull it – make it part of my tool set. Just something I have to do.
