Dreaming of Hot Chocolate

This really wasn’t much of a photowalk. Honestly, these are just some moments I captured as I did some very ordinary things. I went to the bank, grabbed a quick breakfast of chilaquiles con salsa verde and a cup of cappuccino at La Guarecita, where I also picked up a half a kilo of their coffee and a bag of their roasted chocolate for hot chocolate in the evenings. I’m looking forward to trying it this evening because they roast coffee and chocolate. A batch of cooled coffee beans came out of the roaster while I was there and the aroma filled the cafe.

The first two photos are a moment I caught while walking across Plaza San Agustin. A lady comes in the morning with a bag of bread torn into chunks and puts it out for the pigeons. As they fly down to take advantage of her gift, she retreats to a bench on the edge of the plaza to watch. You can just see her on a bench on the left side of the first photo.

The Pope is coming to Morelia on February 16, and the city is in a predictable frenzy. Hotels are fully booked, the cathedral is being polished and made ready. The photo of the front of the Cathedral shows the main door which has been refurbished and polished. He won’t be in Morelia for long, but he is very popular. I’m sure it will be difficult to even get a glimpse of his car when he arrives, but the faithful will persist.
