I’m jumping around a bit here, but this concert was one of the best I’ve ever seen and is still in my head. Roberto Verástegui is a modern jazz pianist and composer and among the best in his field. This evening was a master class, not of what jazz piano is, but one direction it could go. For myself, I can say it is a direction I would like to see more of. Roberto and his road team somehow managed to get an upright piano into Amati and onto the stage for this concert and the effect was fantastic. The music we heard was all his own work and arrangements, a fantastic show of talent.
I can’t say I’m completely satisfied with these photos, but I’m glad I got a chance to capture them. They are memories I want to keep.
