Over the many years I’ve been taking photos of the musicians of Morelia and the area, I’ve had the privilege to see many young musicians transform into confident artists and professionals. How they make the transition, what they ultimately make out of their passion for music is hard to judge at the the beginning, but the rough contours are always there if you look. Knowing that, I’m sure as I watch Cesar and his group, I’ll see more of them whether individually or as a group. The outlines are there.

A word about my process and “Grandes.” I’ve been bringing together a collection of some of my work that I feel are some of my best and have the potential to make good, large prints on canvas. I’m gradually releasing them with the hashtag #Grandes and #Memoriafoto on my Instagram account @maycoldunham. There are currently over 80 photos in the collection.
